Welcome to 20s Plenty for Sway
Our initial aim is to get a 20mph speed limit in our small network of beautiful rural residential lanes to the south-east of Sway village centre in the New Forest National Park.
Why?- 95% reduction in risk to walkers, cyclists and horse riders. Also more walking, cycling and riding, less pollution, less noise, less fear and a better quality of life.
A speed survey conducted by Hampshire County Council in February/March 2013 shows that along Pauls Lane in particular, nearly 70% of vehicles are being driven too fast for the conditions, and 40% dangerously so.
We are a local group of 20's plenty for Us, the national vountary organisation that supports communities who want lower speed limits on their streets. See also our Community SpeedWatch page at www.sway-pc.gov.uk/csw
